Terms and Conditions

1. Identification - Upon collection of the bike box, the Customer must provide an identification document such as a passport or driving licence along with a refundable deposit of £250.00 to be paid via bank transfer.

2. Deposit – Marple Bike Box Hire Limited take a £250.00 deposit via bank transfer before the bike box is released to the Customer.  Once the bike box is returned, Marple Bike Box Hire will check it over for any damage.  If the bike box is returned in a good condition (we accept that there will be some natural and unavoidable scuffs/wear and tear from transportation), then the £250.00 deposit will be refunded by bank transfer.

3. Hire Period – the hire period commences on the day that the Customer books the bike box from Marple Bike Box Hire and ends when the bike box is returned.  Throughout the period of hire, the bike box remains in the ownership of Marple Bike Box Hire.  When the bike box is in the possession of the Customer hiring the bike box it becomes their responsibility if the bike box is damaged, lost or stolen.

4. Lost or stolen – if the bike box is lost or stolen whilst in the possession of the Customer, they will be required to immediately pay the full cost of the bike box in the sum of £750.00 to include the associated administrative charges to Marple Bike Box Hire. This sum must be paid within a period of 14 days from the end of the hire period.  Marple Bike Box Hire reserves the right to take formal legal action to recover this amount from the Customer if payment is not received within this 14 day period.   

5. Damage – If the bike box is damaged, such as, but not limited to a damaged clasp, damaged foam, or broken wheel, whilst on hire to the Customer, then the Customer is liable for the cost of the repairs. Marple Bike Box Hire will withhold the full £250.00 deposit until the repairs are completed and deduct the applicable sum for the repairs from the deposit.  

6. Packing Materials - If the Customer fails to return the associated packing materials, including foam, pipe insulation or the bag etc, then Marple Bike Box Hire reserves the right to deduct a £10.00 fee to cover replacements from the deposit.

7. Bicycle – Marple Bike Box Hire accept no responsibility for any damage to the bicycle of the Customer whilst it is packed within the bike box.  This remains the full responsibility of the Customerto ensure that this is appropriately packaged.

8. Return of the bike box – if the Customer fails to return the bike box on the agreed return date, the Customer will be charged a fee of £20.00 per day as a late return penalty.  The Customer agrees that Marple Bike Box will be able to deduct this amount from the Customer deposit.  If the return of the bike box leads to the cancellation of a further booking then Marple Bike Box reserve the right to deduct the full cost of the cancelled booking from the Customer which may be deducted from the deposit.
