How to pack a Triathlon Aero EasyFit
Step 1
Step 1
Step 1
Remove wheels and pedals from your bike.
Find the side of the box titled ‘rear wheel’ and place the blanket provided in the centre of the rear wheel cut out.
Place the rear wheel into the bike box with the cassette facing down on to the cloth and fasten velcro around the wheel rims. Do not over tighten.
Step 2
Step 1
Step 1
Place the front wheel side of the box flat on the floor and add the provided blanket as per the rear wheel.
Place the front wheel into the front wheel designated cut out.
Place the Velcro around the rims and secure. Do not over tighten.
Step 3
Step 1
Place the other two pieces of blanket onto the discs for both the front and rear wheel
Important step. Place the foam gently on to the wheels. The foam only fits in one way and sits over the wheels leaving the space for the handlebars.
Incorrect packing of the foam will result in damage.
Step 4
Place the bike on top of the foam above the rear wheel with the handlebars within the space provided
Protect the bike by using the bubble wrap and foam provided to protect the frame, forks, derauilleur and saddle.
Ensure that the crank and deruaillier are not catching on the box by using the protection provided.
Fasten with the velcro.
The seat post, saddle and rear derailleur can stay on the bike. They have been removed in the picture above.
Step 5
Ensure the bike is secured properly and will not move during transit.
Use the velcro within the box to attach the pedals to or take these separately in your luggage
If any other components such as seat post, and derailleur have been removed ensure these are secured and won’t move around in the box. Use the bubble wrap provided.
Please remember to pack your tools to rebuild your bike at your holiday location as well as packing your pedals and skewers!
Step 6
If you are unsure on any aspect of the packing then please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
We recommend that you consider adding a GPS tag into your bike box so you can track it at the airport.
Locks can also be added to the clasps to ensure your bike remains secure. These are available to hire from us at a cost of £5.00 for 2 locks for the duration of your trip. If you are interested in hiring these then please ask.
Finally, please ask the airport staff to affix the luggage label to the appropriate location on the top of the box.
