How to pack a Triathlon EasyFit Maxx
Step 1
Step 1
Step 1
Place your bike into small chain ring, disconnect your Di2 (if applicable), remove your pedals and wheels from your bike. Do not remove your wheels before the pedals.
Find the side of the box titled ‘front wheel’ and place the foam insert/blanket provided in the centre of the front wheel cut out.
Place the front wheel into the bike box with the disc facing towards the middle of box, place the cloth and bubble wrap around the disc and fasten the velcro around the wheel rims. Do not over tighten
Step 2
Step 1
Step 1
Place the rear wheel side of the box flat on the floor and add the provided foam/blanket.
Place the rear wheel into the rear wheel designated cut out. The cassette faces down into the box and the disc towards the middle of the box. The foam cut out/blanket protects the cassette against the box.
Place the 2 x velcro around the rims and secure. Do not over tighten. Leave the left hand velcro unfastened as this is required to fix the downtube.
Step 3
Step 1
Important step. Place the foam gently on to the wheels in both the lid and bottom of the box. The foam only fits in one way and sits over the wheels leaving the space for the handlebars.
The foam fits neatly around the edges of the box and protects the frame from the wheels.
Incorrect packing of the foam will result in damage.
Step 4
Place the bike on top of the foam above the rear wheel with the handlebars in the space provided
Protect the bike by using the bubble wrap and foam provided to protect the frame, forks, derailleur and saddle.
Ensure that the crank and derailleur are not catching on the box by using the protection provided.
Fasten securely with the velcro.
The seat post, saddle and rear derailleur can remain on the bike, unless it is a very large frame. .
Step 5
Ensure the bike is secured properly and will not move during transit.
If any other components such as seat post, and derailleur have been removed ensure these are secured and won’t move around in the box. Use the bubble wrap provided.
Please remember to pack your tools to rebuild your bike at your holiday location as well as packing your pedals and skewers!
Step 6
If you are unsure on any aspect of the packing then please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
We recommend that you consider adding a GPS tag into your bike box so you can track it at the airport. You can buy a tracker for £12.50 from us at collection which is compatible with iPhone or Android.
Locks can also be added to the clasps to ensure your bike remains secure. These are sold at a cost of £10.00 for 2 locks and can be bought when you collect your box.
A bundle of a tracker and 2 x TSA padlocks can be purchased for a reduced price of £20.00.
Finally, please ask the airport staff to affix the luggage label to the appropriate location on the top of the box.
